Tybee Island Marine Science Center announces the re-opening of the museum at its current location and the launch of its new online store, The Discovery Shop.
(Tybee Island, GA) The Discovery Shop is live! With The Discovery Shop, the Tybee Island Marine Science Center’s new online store, it’s easier for area residents and people all over the world to get toys, books, t-shirts, and jewelry. Purchases from The Discovery Shop help support the marine science center’s efforts.
“Offering folks a chance to shop online with The Discovery Shop has been a longtime goal of the center,” Maria Procopio, executive director of the marine science center said. “The Discovery Shop comes at a perfect time, as the new Tybee Island Marine Science Center nears completion. Like everywhere else, revenue is down, so The Discovery Shop is a way to help generate new revenue.” To check out The Discovery Shop, please go to ShopTybee.org.
“We’re excited to announce that the marine science center is now open at its current location at 1509 Strand Avenue on Tybee’s South Beach Area with new operating hours, Thursday thru Sunday, 10AM-4PM,” Procopio noted. According to Procopio, construction continues on the center’s new facility at Tybee’s North Beach area and a grand opening is scheduled at a later date. “We are all looking forward to the opening of the new and expanded facility at North Beach,” Procopio added. “Once we’re in the new building, the new marine science center will be able to accommodate even more visitors so that we can further educate and cultivate responsible stewardship.” For more information or to check out the Online Discovery Shop, please go to TybeeMarineScience.org.
